Rachmaninov Had Big Hands

I think I first saw this video on Digg. In it, Richard Hyung-ki Joo performs Rachmaninov’s Prelude in C Sharp Minor, using creative props to perform the widely stacked chords (which I believe he’s expanding from the original for effect). Either way it’s pretty entertaining.

It’s part of a show titled “A Little Nightmare Music” performed by Joo and his partner, violinist Aleksey Igudesman. Unfortunately the show is not scheduled to appear in the U.S. anytime soon.
